Thank Whatever It's Saturday
Oct. 27th, 2012 11:13 amDefinitely summer weather now in Perth. I had to water the garden this morning (only veges and the more susceptible plants) by hose and it was distinctly uncomfortable in the sun. Also topped up the pond and saw a tadpole swimming past. There are about 20-30 in there but I only ever see one at a time.
Fridays at work are casual dress and this tends to spill over into mood. That and the fact the weekend is coming. My last job was an urgent one. For benefit of new people on my LJ, I do court transcription for a variety of courts: Federal, Family, Appeal Tribunal, County Court and so on. I was the last to finish on this job. The merger told my supervisor - this wasn't passed to me until AFTER, thank goodness - that I was all that stood between him and his weekend. :-) So no pressure!
We all do separate chunks from the day's recording and then the merger is the person who puts it all together and hopefully fixes any screaming errors. They're the poor sods who get to stay late when a judge decides to sit on past the usual stopping time. So do we, of course, but the merger is always last past the post.
I really don't get out much. I'm talking about my job! For example, Friday night was TV (Zombieland!) and cage cleaning for the rats, plus feeding and medicating the four out of the nine who are currently on drugs. Cedric, 3-yr-old senior rat, is not on drugs but try short-changing him out of his dish of (unspiked) infant soy formula and see what happens to you. I did housecleaning earlier in the week on a day off, so today is watering (done), laundry (doing) and some writing, which will happen when I pull my finger out.
I have the rest of Ann Benson's Burning Road to read, plus the latest Timeriders from Alex Scarrow. Could be worse. The trains are off on the local line for (more) repairs, so I probably won't be travelling anywhere this weekend.
