So that was Saturday
May. 14th, 2011 09:27 pmGaming today. Well, watching the last half of a game that other people were playing at Eurogames and then playing the first half of Mystery Express before it was time to go catch the rather seldom bus home.
Who was the murderer, please, and did I get anything correct?!
Morale's better this Saturday than last, probably because I'm not going to spend all of Sunday doing mother's day stuff. Which sounds awful but accurate. I don't respond that well to societal pressures, I guess, and talking to my mother is often more like point scoring. For example, she knows I'm planning to buy an electric bicycle when I get the necessary $ together. So she asks me what their top speed is. 25 km, I say. Oh good, says my mother, then you're not going to be caught speeding.
Right. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Makes me want to go out and buy a motorcycle instead.
Got home, fed the rats and watched Dr Who. I've now read through a synopsis of the second Pirates of the Caribbean, since I don't remember watching it all. I know I've seen some but I was wandering in and out of the room doing other things at the time. I now believe I've got enough of a gist to follow the third movie on tv tonight, but unfortunately that's on so late that I'll probably end up not seeing all of that one. I'm getting worse at handling late nights. Must be age. At Swancon, somebody was talking about not getting to bed until 3 am. "How old are you?" "Twenty five." "Make the most of it!" With me, if I don't get to sleep until 3am, it's insomnia!
At least this is a non rat-room service night. Just feeding, water checks, medication, examination, time out and general entertainment of rodents, that's all. Simon has finally responded to the antibiotics and stopped wheezing, for now, but I think Edwin has started. I'm nearly out of Baytril so that means hauling Edwin to the vet (they like to see their patients occasionally) which could be interesting. Edwin is easily alarmed. It's interesting - at least to me - to note that it has taken only about 10 days of medicating for Simon to learn his name, as Edwin did before him. Really not bad for creatures that small.
