Day of the Jab
May. 11th, 2011 05:22 pmI went into work today to be jabbed with a pointy thing, after which I left, since it was a day off. Flu innoculations all round! This one included swine flu, which is good. I had that once. Didn't feel so very ill, in fact, I thought I was recovered until I tried to undertake activity, such as walking through the house.
I'm still a little fuzzy and the site on my arm hurts, but otherwise ok. I'm not sure why they still ask for "the arm you don't write with" when we use computers. The nurse still hands out lollipops too. We have no pride at the gulag: We took the lollipops :-)
It feels odd to be making winter preparations such as airing the blankets and getting my heavy tracksuit pants etc out of the storage chest, when it is still necessary to water the garden. It's broad bean time; I put the seeds in today after preparing the soil last weekend. The temperatures are going down, hopefully enough to suit them and rain is forecast for next week, which will be just right...IF it comes!
Finances are still down after Swancon, so I'll have to wait a bit longer to get my electric bike. Probably until after tax time. Going to another convention will have to wait longer than that. Conflux would be good, but unlikely; several of my rats will be very aged by then and I'm not prepared to leave them, even with another rat person. Genghiscon, certainly.
