I'm an idjit
Sep. 3rd, 2022 12:51 pmStill looking for the appropriate icon here. For now I am a cautionary tale for all, to be pointed at and to receive mutterings in the street.
The short form is it's not a good idea to carry your smartphone in the same bag as your newly acquired shepherd's pie from the bakery. It wasn't baked yet and it was drippy. And not wrapped as well as it might have been.
Yes.
After attempting to get my phone to boot last night, once I cleaned it up, I took it today to Haiou, a reputable phone repairer in the nearby shopping centre of Galleria. With much sadness I was informed that the damage had got inside - I hadn't been able to see this because of the between-eye-surgeries thing - and that the phone was most likely beyond help. But to keep it for a couple of days to see if it somehow revived.
I did check whether this was covered in the phone's still-current warranty but the answer to that one was, "Nope" from Optus.
Learn from my bad example, grasshoppers.
It was excellent pie, btw, but not that good.
[btw, now receiving recommendations for lower end new phone that uses 4G]
