Swancon plans
Mar. 23rd, 2016 06:07 pmSwancon - Western Australia's annual sf convention - has snuck up on me again but at least this time I've been organised. I'll be staying at the con - well, next door at the Goodearth Hotel - on the Friday and Saturday nights.
I'm doing a five-hour shift at the gulag tomorrow, so may or may not show up Thursday night, but be warned, I will be there on Friday. I had hoped to organise rat sitting but have not been able to do so, so there's a bit of to and fro-ing for me over the con. The boys will be quite annoyed by the service over Easter, I predict.
I figure I can last most of a day at least on Sunday and then go home to get some decent sleep and, you guessed it, do rat room service. I'm not as rested as I hoped to be because the gulag has been killing busy, I went to a protest rally about the Safe Schools program on Monday night, and my mother is recovering from a hip operation, so I've needed to go over there to help her out with stuff. While she's focused on that, she's not giving me a hard time, though to quote Spike from Buffy, she is a bleeding pain in my bleeding side when doing any domestic task. You'd think by now I'd have learned how to hang a sheet on a clothesline, yes? So did I!
*mutters direly*
Anyway, I will see some of you at the con. I hope to do some chatting, some gaming, some drinking of tea and dining with friends. Perhaps all together.
