I'm quite fatigued, even though I am sleeping okay now. Sunday and Monday had 40^C temperature maximums and the nights were the hottest in March for several years. This may be why I spent all of Tuesday wanting to go to sleep, although another factor was having to transcribe the same exceedingly dull case about shonky real estate dealings for two days. Lawyers talking about real estate are marginally more interesting than when they talk about tax or native title, but only just.

Today I had to stay awake as well. M sprang herself from the hospital on Monday, even though the last news I had was she'd be there for several more days. Today was the first day I could visit and sort out various stuff she can't do for herself while recovering from the hip operation. The hospital sent some of the good drugs home with her so M is not making a terrible lot of sense. Less than usual, that is. I had to listen to the details of the latest resident to shuffle off the mortal coil [it's an over 55s place so there's always someone] and how much M didn't like her brother, my uncle, who died two weeks ago. M still holds a grudge for things he did to her when they were kids, over 70 years ago. I swear, she could whinge for Australia. Or maybe England. [For new friends, M was born in England and the rest of her family live there].

I saw the three screws removed from the previous botched hip operation. They're a couple of inches long! They were also presented in a plastic bag bearing the Biohazard logo. I am really envious. Anybody can save their wisdom teeth but this is a special momento.

Anyway, two more days to work, then the weekend, then a couple more days and then Swancon. I hope to have caught up on my sleep by then.
