So Far So Good

Sunday. Slept in, which was excellent and have no plans apart from a food shop and some gardening. My garden is beginning to be an embarrassment out front; it's tidy enough but I lost some plants during this very long hot spell. Some do well: Child of Lemon Scented Eucalypt takes any chance to become a tree. It's slightly taller than I am and I prune it without mercy. I think it is still going to win. The most successful plants in my garden are definitely the volunteers.

Yesterday I dragged self out of bed and went to the gym, then over to the board gaming club. I don't do this too often because the journey is a pain since the train stopped being a run-through in the city and now necessitates hauling Rocket the e-bike up and down lifts four times during the trip. Also if you're late it can take awhile to find a game. I played Ticket to Ride and also King of Tokyo, where you play one of the Japanese giant monsters with ambitions for city/world conquest.

One of my rats, on that theme, has ambitions to be the boss of everyone. He gave me an unprovoked nip on Friday night and I responded as a boss rat would; flipping him on to his back, holding him there and tauntingly grooming his stomach while asking, "You and whose army?" Ern did not try to bite me again, but was in a bad mood for the rest of the night. I'm seriously thinking of having him fixed. Ern is the alpha of the Bunbury Boys, who were due to be put down for biting when rescued.

Anyway, need to go get some food. Wish me luck for an unbothered rest of the day!
