Winter Perambulations
Jun. 20th, 2012 04:42 pmWet and cold today, but only chance to get Griffin to the vet this week, so had to get up early and go. Griffin not thrilled by the experience, his first visit to the vet, who greeted him with, "He's HUGE!" 550 grams, which is pretty big even for a male rat. Despite this, he got mistaken for a mouse in the waiting room. Go figure. He's on a new medication, as he's not responding to the usual antibiotic and is wheezy. Griff and I were sitting next to a guy who'd brought his female rat in; fortunately she wasn't in season and had no use for Griffin.
Other news: My boss is out of hospital and back at work, sharing grisly details of his surgery. He thinks they got all the appendix this time.
The lost package turned up at another post office. I think the postie now knows where Eden Hill Post Office is. Another package arrived the next day and this one was carefully placed on my front verandah :-)
My interview in the Eastern Reporter has come out and apart from getting the book's title wrong - they got it confused with the title of one of the stories, which won an award in its own right - it wasn't too bad. I'm going to get some more publicity from the local library in their rag at some point too. I collected a few copies on my way back from food shopping this afternoon. Wouldn't have gone out again if I didn't have to, but supplies were fairly low. No chocolate, no bananas, no cheese....
