I'll feel better soon
Jun. 9th, 2011 04:59 pmOuch. That hurt.
Today I decided that the general aching of back and neck had now reached crisis point and had to go get a massage. Came home and fell asleep, applied hot shower afterwards and am now foggily conscious. This sort of massage is never a feel-good experience, it's more essential maintenance. [sigh].
If anyone can recommend a good massage place/person, I would be indebted. I don't particularly like going to the chain of Chinese places in town, which feel quite impersonal and where you often have to point to the required massage on a card because you have no language in common with the staff. They do, however, understand what a yelp of pain means, so it's not all bad. I think, though, that it's important to be able to talk properly with the person delivering your massage and that's what you don't get.
This has been a remarkably slack week, so it's not a good sign that the physical pains got so bad anyway. Monday was a holiday. Tuesday at work. Wednesday and Thursday not at work. Tomorrow I'll be at work. Wednesday was cutting the lawns plus shopping run and last night I rode the bike to gaming, 4 kilometres each way, but that shouldn't have shaken anything up. It's just general build up of discomfort over several weeks. My character is out of hospital but that's about all I achieved there. The main benefit was actually interacting with people who are neither my workmates nor rats :-)
