No storm. Quite disappointing, really. It's not that I *want* destruction, but a lot of rain would've been good. That might still happen, I guess, just without the oomph of a cyclone. The rain that we did get was very localised; my mother said there was none in her bit of the city, which is about 20 km from me, roughly speaking. So my area was lucky to get that 20mm. It still saves water as I didn't need to water yesterday and probably not today.
AFTERNOON UPDATE
At least the no storm made it possible for Rob and Leece to visit today and instruct yours truly in the preparation and cooking of Okonomiyaki, Japan's contribution to the world of savoury pancakes :-) The results were edible and I managed to flip the mixture successfully one time out of three. I'm actually quite tired now after all that concentration. I'm quite encouraged. My cooking repertoire is all things I can memorise, as in: Put it under the grill until brown :-) This is the first in a long time that I've cooked something with a fairly complex recipe and list of instructions. At least, complex when you have not done it before.
I'm later going to experiment on rats by serving some up for their dinner. They were most interested earlier when they smelled the proceedings at the other end of the room!
