Elliott wasn't causing a fight that I could see, but when I staggered out in response to the 3am eeks (not screams) I found him throwing his weight around, bothering Magnus in a hammock....and Oliver had trekked all the way down to the lower doors and was standing there, asking to be rescued!

There's times when you actually manage communication with a rat, all through body language, of course, and here was Oliver, telling me he was really uncomfortable in the same space as Elliott, couldn't relax, couldn't sit in a hammock with the others. No new injuries, but he was unhappy. I may not be able to fix some of the things that bother *me* at the moment, but as regards ratkind, sure. I turned the central tray around in the middle of the cage, which cuts off the access between levels and moved Elliott and Vernon back into the other half. Oliver and co promptly came downstairs to their food for something to eat.

Sometimes I want to ask them why they don't just gang up on somebody who's being a pain and sort him out. I guess that's why rats don't rule the world.
