I'd just like to say that, if I have a comfort zone, my high school reunion is on the planet it's furthest from.

That said, I believe I got enough usable material to make the three hours I spent there worthwhile. Not specific dirt on people, more being able to observe how a bunch of people act towards one another when they haven't met for three decades. Also, how they acted as a group was somewhat interesting. There was much reversion to teenage behaviour. Somebody dug up (well, not quite but almost) the deputy headmistress, who seemed to have remarkably acute memories of the end-of-school attempt by a small group of students to sell the school. [They put an ad in the newspaper, which resulted in Miss Lukin receiving quite a lot of phone calls from 6am on the day]. There was also a confession by the person who had placed the ad, "The statute of limitations is up!"

The do was held at the Nedlands Yacht Club; quite a pleasant setting, but spoiled for me by the volume of the music. If it's an event where people are supposed to chat to each other, it'd help to be able to hear them.

I don't think I could remember more than about ten people from that time and only a couple of those were actually there. So glad to get clear of the place and back to real life, or my facsimile thereof.
