RAIN! LOTS OF IT!
Mar. 22nd, 2010 09:21 pmI'm not drowned, if anyone was wondering. I disconnected my comp when I got home, which meant unplugging the VOIP too, and promptly got two panicked phone calls in quick succession from my mother on the mobile about an hour later, missing both because I had the tv up loud over the rain noise and was also washing up. Then another person checked and found the VOIP dead, so more reassurance was necessary. I guess I'll have to stop my misguided attempts to protect my fancy new system.
It's odd, really. If I'd been washed away, it'd have been too late by the time anyone rang me and when I got home, I was fine. Delayed because the train was delayed and late leaving work also but that was it. The first wave belted down while I was still at work and the second torrent of water, thunder and lightning while I was at the train station in an area that's usually sheltered.
The rats weren't affected at all, except to complain that dinner service was late.
Going to bed now. Really, really tired and achy
