The Waiting Month
Feb. 10th, 2010 12:32 pmIf anyone wants a weiro; one arrived at a workmate's place recently and asked to move in. Since they have a predatory Siamese and don't really want a bird, they're looking for a new home!
I'm back at work and it's going okay. No traumas, which is really rather unusual. No supervisors suddenly quitting, no equipment failures in the Federal Court, nobody having a bitch-fit and no discovering that the new office is a cramped hole. [That was the last place we lived in.] Sorry,
delicious_irony, nobody has said anything funny yet :-) I'll have quotes for you as soon as they do.
I'm awaiting my first proper payday since Christmas. This is always the lowest financial time, when I count every dollar and don't spend anything I don't have to. As a result, there's a long list of stuff I want or need to do after next week, including various books I want which I know are already here and being bought by other people as I write! I may have to have them put aside, methinks.
The novella-thing I'm writing at the moment is going. Not terrifically fast but it's going. I'll get you that section I need you to look at as soon as I can,
satyapriya. My head isn't really together, as far as creative stuff goes.
I'm still on the lookout for gaming entertainment. Board games are taken care of with Eurogames, not to mention my fortnightly-or-so thrashing at Scrabble by my mother. I have been playing Call of Cthulhu but would like some variety of the GURPS kind if anyone is running a game and could use another player. I've even been thinking about running a game myself, maybe Zombie Apocalypse, put some of my weirder recent reading to use.
I'm going to join a local gym as soon as the $ comes in.
