*yawn, tired*

Not too much happening, but I did hear the voice of frog from the pond for the first time in quite awhile this morning. I'd been aware of something/s diving upon my approach for awhile but they hadn't made any noise. I have set up some poles in front of the pond, below the clothesline. They're closer than what I estimate is a kookaburra's wingspan, intended to foil any hunting swoops from the clothesline. Of course, if the buggers have been off training, Red Bull Air Race style, they might be able to get through, but at least I've tried!

Also the water potplants have grown a lot since last season and are now best described as feral. I didn't realise that they would just break out of the pots and colonise everywhere, which they have, so I guess they like the place. The White Cloud Mountain Minnows have done a fairly good job at keeping algae and wrigglers down and they have also increased. I've even seen a separate school of baby minnows.

I've been doing an extra day at work for quite awhile since the gulag is swamped, and it's full-on stuff to be doing four days. Don't dare complain as some folk are doing five or more and anyway, the $ is useful, especially as I bought more books today and am feeling the pang of retail guilt once more.

Since I want to have a working brain for Eurogames tomorrow, I guess I'd better get to bed! Even though all this rain we're getting right now is a Good Thing, I hope it's a bit drier tomorrow. I got soaked on the way home tonight and it's a sign of how wet this winter has been that I've had a couple of soakings. Usually I can avoid them.
