Rat progress
Mar. 7th, 2006 09:14 pmLooks like Percy, my white rat and only survivor of the Trio, has been accepted by the Junior Mafia. Well, they were ready to be friendly right away, it was Percy who was rather dubious! Found him curled up with them on the couch during playtime - which to some rats simply means sleep-somewhere-else - which is very encouraging.
I didn't want Percy to be alone, though he's got to stay in his own quarters for some time yet. Jeremiah the Godfather is too frail to handle a fight, which he would start, so socialisation only happens once Jeremiah has gone home for his dish of soy formula and antibiotic. Spoilt, I know. Compare that with the wild rat family who live in my compost bin. I saw one today when I tipped some organic rubbish into it; cute little brown rattus who jumped up to the fence and ran off in no particular panic. They're probably going to eat the stuff I tipped in and they're surviving this heatwave outside. I give them water, that's all, while my boys have the air-conditioner all day.
I'll post my werewolf notes here once I get my brain together. Been at work today so I'm too tired to think beyond diary entries.
Btw, ignore any recent complaining. I think the heat got to me and even if I couldn't go to all of it, I did feel the end of the convention. Roll on CONFLUX!
