Rat Temple - Far Future Travel Plans

I've decided I'm tired of having the same sort of holiday. Next overseas trip will be a "pilgrimage" to the Rat Temple of India :-)

I say far future because it's likely to be quite awhile before I can afford any such thing. There is the Melbourne Worldcon in 2010. I'd also like to visit Floriade which is both at the same time and within walking distance of Conflux. [if it's using the Rydges hotel, that is]. Unfortunately the finances won't allow for this year and also my pet rats, who are unwell, would never forgive me. I am a slave to the wishes of small fuzzy rodents.

Conflux isn't at Rydges this year, nor is it on at the same time as floriade (which is a week afterwards) so perhaps its just as well you weren't able to attend this year. Except that it means that those of us there will miss your company which is a great pity indeed.

Thanks for that, the bit about missing me :-) This year was never a chance but I am thinking about next year - will it be at the same time as Floriade then?

If last year is any guide, Conflux for next year won't be determined until after this year's event.

From my outsiders view, it looks like Floriade is tied to the school holidays and Conflux to the long weekend - I suppose if somebody knew when those were next year for ACT you could make an educated guess.
