Back on the hamster wheel
Sunday. M is out of hospital and back to pissing me off. That's not an indication of a spike, i.e. argument, it's pretty much normal. I will now stand down and go back to normal programming. As normal as it ever gets.
Before heading out for some groceries just past midday, I went online and learned that we're in low-level lockdown again. Masks inside, one and a half metre rule. Person has come back to the State infectious, not knowing it, and potentially spreading the COVID strain they call Delta variant upon the breeze. This is the one you can catch walking past a stranger. And I still haven't got myself a more interesting mask. The huge selection available froze my decision matrix. I was also trying to find some made here in WA.
I didn't participate in any toilet paper panic this time but I did have to get some litter for the rats, so no choice but to join in the somewhat stressed out throng at the shopping centre. Most stressed were the poor sods having to work there, suddenly being thrown back into lockdown procedures, running around with signs and standing at the front of Coles with a packet of masks, because some folks had not realised. One woman saw me parking Rocket outside, wearing a mask [me, not Rocket] and I gave her the news. She said she had one in her car and hurried back to get it so yeah, folk are doing the right thing once they know. It was sort of dropped without warning.
Today's back to gray and rainy and cold, so staying home once I got back here, doing a few small tasks and then relaxing.
