Best t'were done quickly

I'm just back from getting my plague-preventing jab! The process at the Showgrounds was amazingly swift and efficient, at least for AZ-types, though those getting the Pfizer jab made a considerable queue. I just walked through without needing to stop at all, got jabbed, waited the 15 mins, made appt for number 2 and walked out. It wasn't even the scheduled time for my shot yet.

Fuzziness came upon me before I reached home and I've just risen from a nap of a couple of hours. This reaction was stronger than the one I have to the flu jab but not bad; I just wasn't capable of any sentient thought. [And friends can be silent on that subject!] I don't feel like doing anything in particular yet but will hopefully be recovered tomorrow. Must say the reality of COVID-19 came at me in a rush when I felt that needle.

I had no ill effects except a sorer than usual arm. Ros had none at all, and Rob got wiped out for 1/2 a day two days later.

It's going to be interesting to see what the 2nd dose does to us all.

Sore arm, VERY fatigued/fuzzed through day, night and I can still feel it now. Last night muscular aching, esp around eyes, took some Nurofen and was able to sleep after that. Today still able to take Inigo to the vet - which he would've been happy for me to skip - and shopping trip. But sounds like it could still come around on me again tomorrow. We'll see.

And then one day later there are ominous mutterings about only giving it [the Astra-Zeneca] to over 60s. Thanks, guys.

I think the best vaccine is the one they offer you first.

I like the way that you think. I survived a pulmonary embolism due to contraceptive that they still hand out in the millions, and people are taking it still, but they complain about a vaccine with less chance of side effects. Sheesh.

Yes. It's amazingly ignorant to ignore that, isn't it? I had no trouble from the Pill but by God I read the packet. Not sure who to blame here; General Public or medical authorities for caving to the panic, though I guess the latter were very pressured to do so.

I could see the trend yesterday, looking back. That packed queue for the Pfizer and....me. There was no one else going through for the AZ at the same time as I was! I guess I have more experience taking stuff I know is dangerous but which will give me a better life.
