I have now organised my entire schedule for the Anzac Day weekend and will now sit back and watch the universe mess with it.

As of this afternoon, the Perth region is in a snap lockdown due to the virus escaping hotel quarantine.  I'd taken my break from work at 2.30 to wander outside for a bit and went by the Duxton Hotel that's close by, to see whether there might be a good spot to park Rocket tomorrow when I went to the con.  When I got back, people in the office were chatting in the kitchen and saying the dreaded word "lockdown."  Who's in lockdown?  Us, they said.

I actually thought my boss was messing with me.  

So yeah.   Swancon will be rescheduled for later in the year.  The only thing I can still do is Monday's overtime, wouldn't you know?

Fucksake. Major sympathy. I've booked a couple of gigs for October but I'm fully expecting them not to happen. Sorry everything is relentlessly terrible lately.

Yes. Those three days out of all of them? The con did postpone rather than cancel so here's hoping they manage to make it happen.

It's damn frustrating because when you see the events that went towards the lockdown, it could have been avoided. The authorities used a hotel for quarantining travellers that they knew had bad ventilation. People got infected while in quarantine and were let go, not realising they were infectious. Boom. WA has been trying not to have this happen for over a year. The State govt are also hamstrung. It's Federal's call to use army bases/Christmas Island - which was a holiday destination, then a refugee centre. Federal is run by religious fools. [Hillsong, the Prime Minister and several others are members] They won't make the call. So I don't blame the State Premier. I'm just sick about it.

And those travellers? Only just learned they're letting people travel (supposed to be essential only) to go to fucking weddings and funerals in India! I don't know about the weddings but I know why they have so many funerals. India is in full breakdown thrash mode. [tears out remaining hair]
