day four of lurgy

I'm still pretty sick but have stopped the insane sneezing all over the place.  Had to ride up the road to get some groceries because now completely out of supplies.  Well, nothing to eat, plenty to put on it.  Did try making porridge with just water and while there ARE actual recipes for this, let's say it wasn't a hit.  So hot outside that the trip wouldn't have been fun even when healthy, but got the stuff, got home and holed up in the aircon.  

It seems to be worse to get sick in good weather, though of course the cold germs don't care;  they're on all the train surfaces and floating around offices and shops, whatever the sun is doing or not doing.  

Nor do the rats care - thank you very much, guys.  They'd managed to upend one of the full litter trays and get it completely out of its corner, presumably so they could sleep in what remained.  No consideration for the sick, who had to sweep up what fell outside.

Going to go back to bed.  It's not looking good for tomorrow for work.  Hope they're not pissed off if I have to pull the plug.

I honestly don't think I've ever had a cold in the summer, but I can imagine it's even worse (even for the simple fact it must feel way more unjust!) I've had stomach flu in July and that was absolute Hell. Keeping everything crossed that you are recovered in time to have a bit of quality holiday!

I will, don't worry. The only good thing about getting sick before the summer holiday is that it's my long one. I always have several weeks off for the sake of my continued mental health. The courts go into recess for January, so work is always keen for people to take holidays now.

Hope you manage to stave off a lurgy also, given that you have an afflicted person in your very house!

Long holiday sounds awesome :) Really glad you've got that coming up.

I (TOUCH WOOD) appear to have survived the outbreak, seeing as he's recovered now and I've not shown symptoms yet!

Well if they *want* you to make them and the rest of the staff sick just in time for Christmas that's really not clear thinking on their part.

Just hit the first sneezy stage of my 5 day lurgy. The good news is, despite waking up in great pain this morning, my throat is almost not sore.

That sounds terrible! To have great pain but it's not the throat? Yeah, I haven't had a bad throat problem either. Some, for which I had Strepsils, but not bad. Work should be okay, they usually are, it's just my paranoia. They're fully aware of what happens when a sick person does come in. But I've cleared up with the sneezing now so possibly not infectious now, not sure.

I was unclear, very sore throat for all of this since Sunday night (woke up with it it really bad this morning) right up until this afternoon where it pretty much magically went away, and was replaced by a nose wishing to fill the Ord River Catchment area or something in an unending stream. Very odd!

Ah, I see. My brain was also very foggy, so construing sentences very hard.

Yeah, you wonder how one nose can hold that much.....

Yes, got the card this time. I did check the spam folder in iinet just in case but wasn't there. Thanks much, very cute. The rats are not doing much bounding right now; too hot. Even with the aircon I think they find having fur a bit too much. The younger rats, who were only born in February, would like me to stop this hot.
