Also Not at Continuum
There's a convention in Melbourne and I'm not at it. Would've been nice but a bit costly and I got a cold anyway. Would I have been sick if I'd chosen to go? [Existential sneezes.] Have a good time, anyone who's there.
I'm getting over the wheezes and should be ok for work on Monday. Of course. I've been spending time watching my new little rats and marvelling at their tiny size and agility. They've settled in well already.
There's a discussion or several happening online at the moment concerning the death of a child, which has brought up the question of appropriate posting. It's bothered me and I'm not normally triggered by this. There've been no cuts or warnings; the information is just there. I think cuts would've been a good idea in this instance. I don't expect the online world to be all bunnies and flowers, but still.
I'm not doing any gaming at the moment, since one player now has night work and it seems all is waiting for that to stop. So I'm a bit bereft of gaming; not even any board games except for being wiped off the Scrabble board by M when I'm over there. I win just enough to keep my hopes up.
My favourite TV shows are all finished for the moment: that's The Walking Dead, which takes up again in October, Supernatural, which goes into its tenth season later this year and Resurrection, about dead people coming back and confusing hell out of their relatives. No, you can't have the house back, you left it to me in your will! It began rather slowly but I think has potential.
I already miss my favourite King of Hell in the form of Mark Sheppard, who plays the demon Crowley in Supernatural, though he's going to be a regular next season which should be good. Crowley had some wonderful innovations for Hell, such as a neverending queue in which the damned souls had to wait...and wait.
My overwhelming feeling right now is that of waiting for things to happen. This often seems to accompany winter, which at the moment is not that cold, but is certainly overcast and depressing. Working an extra day has probably tipped my mood to dark. The $ is probably necessary, but it's hard to keep that in mind. I hope things get better soon.

I hate it when the shows I like finish. It's one less thing to look forward to... have you checked out Penny Dreadful? It's a Showtime production but it feels like a BBC one :D We downloaded it a while ago--on its third episode now, I believe.
