Out of bed, showered and dressed in clothes that got ironed first, before 9 am.

I told the gulag last week that yes, I'd work the Thursday for them again even though they told me off for working six extra minutes not that many weeks ago.

About to leave for work, with news that the trains are being amusing again after an incident on our line.

What was I thinking?

My thought exactly, but it didn't bother me much. I knew they'd be back to begging for us to do more hours soon enough, as indeed they have. They go through these spasms of anal retentiveness periodically.
