Mental health repairs

If I had not snoozed off again after 7am, I would not have had the scary dream. The neighbour's lawn being mowed would not have scared the shit out of me by becoming part of the scary dream.

We've all moved into this hotel, see. Everybody I know. Then they make new keys and suddenly I can't operate the elevator properly or find my way to my room. People in the hotel are out to get me. Then my room becomes a very noisy train carriage with no brakes, belting off into unknown territory. Anxiety hassles much? This is my last day of leave, otherwise known as mental health repair time.

A lot of folk I know have made resolutions for the new year. I hadn't made a specific list, still being busy with some of the stuff from last year, so here it is. I probably won't continue the gym because I need to save the money and also because nobody's ever there when I can be, even at the times it says somebody will be, so I might as well do my own thing anyway. With my work hours moved, I can't get there for evening classes. When weather permits, I intend to do some more disk golf. I like ice skating/rollerblading, but any rink is a long way from me. Horse riding also, but that's even more difficult to arrange than ice skating. So, exercise but more interesting exercise.

I'll also finish the book. Yes, I have resumed working on a book.

Not going anywhere away this year. I intend to take good care of my pet rats [Finn, Eli, Nigel, Henry, Benny, Gil and Coconut] and not to adopt any others for now, as it has become very stressful and also a tad expensive.

I'm trying to sort my head out with a bit of professional help, i.e. counsellor, and would like to be less depressed and improve my social life, which will probably mean trying not to burrow when I'm tired. Assistance and ideas gratefully received!

Good idea re the rats. You always give them the best care, but I know it's been hard lately. Best wishes from Colorado for a happier 2014!
