New year so far
Day 3. Much cooler, so brain is actually operating. Began the cleanup of the backyard on day 1; mostly the fire hazard created by one of my trees dropping all its bark, but weather being too hot for gardening. In the evening, met
leecetheartist,
rdmasters and
arcadiagt5. (I hope that's the right name) for gaming at the Myriade games cafe in town.
First gamer socialising in forever! Burgers, then Ticket To Ride and another game involving pattern recognition and hand-eye coordination, so I crashed and burned :-) Didn't get home until around 10pm, where there were very annoyed rats complaining about the shoddy room service.
Yesterday, was able to do some more tidying/pruning around the place before heading to town for a haircut and a couple of other tasks needing me to visit the CBD, which was not Christmas-insane any more but still too busy for comfort. Re hair ambitions; I am still oddly drawn to the idea of purple hair but need to hang on to the cash for awhile, as my next power bill is going to be a doozy.
Today, my very feral lawn is going to be cut and also another adoptee rat is arriving, the last for awhile. She - yes, she - belongs to a friend who is shifting cities. She's spayed - the rat, not the friend - so can be with the boys, who are going to be quite interested until they realise the awful truth. It can take awhile before a male rat gives up hope, if he ever does.

I just finished helping move the new Ferret Kingdom in here and a whole lot of other rat-related items out. How can such small creatures accumulate so much stuff?! I am totally knackered.
Coconut is now settled into half of the FK with Charles and Ash. No troubles at all, in fact, they seem to be ignoring each other and getting excited over the real estate.

Legend has it that one of the vets I see has neutered mice.
