The rat's after game real life adventure
Mar. 7th, 2019 09:36 amStephen’s GURPS game was running last night. There’s been a gap of a few weeks so our memories had failed for a lot of the detail, which is 1930s USA. It was also so humid that nobody's brain seemed to be working very well, not just mine. The characters are tracking down a rogue plastic surgeon. There’s a circus/carnival involved and an actual plot which has taken us a while to locate.
I think it’s been written with more mainstream gamers in mind than us, if that’s not a contradiction in terms. I keep expecting supernatural or sf elements to it, but there are none. So far. Then I headed home.
I don’t think I want to game any more on nights when the trains aren’t running! This is probably the worst luck I've had with these buses, but last time one ran early - which I thought was against the rules of buses! - so I had to wait half an hour in the winter night for the next. The annoying thing is that that's not quite enough time to walk it before the bus would overtake me. This time, though, had I set off from Stephen's place for home right away, I would have made it.
