I hardly remember what day it is;  things are so relaxed.  I've done all my usual self-imposed jobs.  Won't need to iron anything for another couple of weeks and the house is cleaned up.  Gardening in another couple of hours when things cool down enough.  If you read a story about some person who got wedged in a tree while clutching a small saw and needed to be rescued, that'll be me.  This tree started as a small, cute peppermint gum seedling;  I don't know what happened since.  But seriously, haven't had an end of year break this decent for a long time.

I could be getting a bookcase soon and in that event there will be rearranging needed.  I'm thinking I might give my In Death collection their own bookcase, plus another couple of series that contain a lot of books.  And the ones currently in bags can emerge. I could also buy new books!

Haven't heard of any parties this year.  Maybe people are as torpid and dopey as me, or everyone just needs a good rest this time around!

I did see The Last Jedi yesterday and enjoyed it, with some reservations, but seriously;  it's a fun movie.  Won't say more because I know some folks haven't seen it yet.   It was good to see Carrie Fisher as Leia one more time.  That series has been a part of my life for all my adolescence and adulthood.  I saw the first movie (production order, don't confuse me) when I was 13 and got dumped at the cinema with my younger brother by our mother, who just wanted a few kid-free hours to herself.  My brother never bothered any further with sf, but I never looked back :-)   Now I have quite a few grey hairs.  How did that happen?

I'll see everybody next year.
