Saturday foodie
Aug. 20th, 2016 05:39 pmI’ve finally done my tax, delayed by Medibank, who just gave me the necessary details after a delay caused by them adopting a new computer system, so they said. The online tax lodging system isn’t too bad; I’m left thinking I must have forgotten something, but it probably evens up with the things I got away with. So long as I get something back, I stay quiet. What I’ll get will take care of my recent horrible medical expenses.
I’m also going to cook something different tonight. I am a person of habit with cooking, as with most other things, so it takes a bit to make me adopt something new. After my crashing health/diet news the other day, I decided to find out whether I could eat eggplant. Now I have a recipe (thanks Anna) and a plan so will see. It will involve capsicum, tomato, mushroom, rice and oh yes, one massive eggplant. I will try out the other recipe I got (thanks Gillian) when I work out what miso sauce is and how to make it.
Dr K even told me how much meat to eat when I did – limit of 100g. Was quite surprised to find that the medium-sized steak I got today weighed about twice this. I think a lot of people must OD on red meat without knowing it. No problem; was going to cut it up anyway.

There’s a drawing of a small chop with a tick next to it and then a large one with lots of fat on it (and the word “fat” in case I missed it) with a cross. Sausages, chops and bacon all have the cross; mushroom, eggplant, corn, peas and eggs have the tick.
Anyway, starting to get hungry and this recipe takes a while, so I’ll post this and get going.
