This is just a placeholder mention. I'm grieving my pet rat Cade, who died last night. Monster Island was that rare thing, an original zombie novel, and Spellcaster a teen romance/supernatural/horror thing. It was partly told from the viewpoint of the teenaged boy, who becomes a sort of power battery for the girl, who is the spellcaster of the title. I.e. he's her sidekick, which I rather appreciated.
Also ebook The Fall by Caleb Cleek, which was readable but amateur, with gung ho hero cops protecting wives and children from the zombie hordes. Still, it was free and featured a busload of Japanese tourists as patients-zero for the characters' home town.
