I'm back from WABA [Western Australian Boardgaming Association], having had a nice stress-relieving game of Nuclear War, which I won, partly by staying fairly quiet while a couple of the other players feuded with one another :-) There was a tournament of that game later, but that would've meant riding back in the cold. Dark I don't mind, but I am a wimp about cold weather. Though come to think of it, the bike's front light needs a new battery, my helmet is black and so is my jacket :-)
I would like to game more than I do, but it generally takes about an hour and a half to get there, sometimes a bit quicker, depending on whether the train goes straight through or I have to change in Perth. I think I was actually gaming for about two hours and watching the start of another game. Still, it got me out of the house and also the ride was good. Since the lift at my home station is out of order, I got out one station earlier and had a bit longer ride. That's better than carrying Rocket the e-bike, who weighs twice what an ordinary bike does, up the steps.
Tonight; just rat room service, make their dinner and mine, then maybe I'll watch Avengers.
*To misquote Lewis Carroll; I didn't say there was nothing better, I said there was nothing like it!*
