Safe at last
Dec. 21st, 2013 01:53 pmYesterday at work was quite stressful; mostly because some folk were already in holiday mode and it was too bloody noisy. Not worth it to complain as they wouldn't listen to me or just call me a spoilsport. There was also tradies with power tools in the next office (only a dividing wall) and general craziness. Me, I just wanted to get through it and vanish. I had another of the computer tasks that drove me crazy on Tuesday but by now I had worked out enough to actually get it right. Well, after I grabbed our 20-year-old comp whiz to help me with one thing.
After all the Christmas party angst; none of the party creatures came near me or anyone else who didn't want to go. They all took off without even saying have a good holiday or f.... you. I'd skipped a break so I could leave early and get to the vet's to pick up my rat's medicine, so I just walked out of there practically unnoticed.
Btw, our office tied with Brisbane office to win the Khristmas Kitsch contest. Apparently we were the only ones with singing. What I lacked in tunefulness, I made up for in volume.
Now I am on leave and I've spent quite a bit of it today asleep. Then watering and gardening. Everything has a waiting air to it, as though the rest of the suburb is snoozing and gaining its strength as well. I don't intend to venture back into the city until things calm down as the environment in there is absolutely mental at the moment.
