the 25th

The aircon is doing the best it can, holding at just under 30^C with max power. I have the living room/kitchen closed off and the rats and I are in it.. Going through any doors feels like they're airlocks to the alien planet of the summer outdoors in Perth. I was up early to water the garden, then online chatting to Gillian in Canberra, currently enjoying a mild 18^C. After lunch, unconsciousness beckoned. The rats were asleep too and it's very infectious, being in a room with ten creatures who are so good at achieving the sleep state that some seem to rarely leave it.

Temp beginning to go down now. Locally we got to 38^C and it's a couple less now. I know nowhere is likely to be open for icecream or Coke, two things I neglected to stock because sick, but may go for a walk around anyhow this evening. I know one shop which just may be open. This has been extremely peaceful.

Found it!

So good to get out on Rocket the e bike, finally, around about dusk. The shop I'd been thinking of had been open but no longer. We circled some more of the block and then I saw it, lonely lights in the small lineup of shops. Hot Rock Pizza! So dinner as well as icecream and soda was had. The rats also had pizza with their tea. Cages cleaned and a bath for Cedric, who is no longer able to properly attend to his grooming.

I'm feeling better but am still coughing, so will have to decide tomorrow about the movie.
