Wallow

Today is dedicated to wallowing. It's my last day of leave, back to the gulag tomorrow for the final stretch of the year before my *next* break. Rather gray and cool after yesterday, which was sunny and reached 28^C. I'd resolved to go into town and see if I could find a couple of new short-sleeved shirts for summer, so I did that. The Royal Show in Perth finished yesterday so that hopefully meant the trains wouldn't be too unpleasant. They weren't too bad.

I ended up getting one shirt, that'll do for now, and headed home. Planned to take a brief nap but some moron with power tools put paid to that, so did some laundry and hopped online to see if anything more interesting was happening for anyone else.

I'm afraid the blehs are back, as always when I'm facing the day job. There's the rest of October, November and then three weeks of December to get through. A couple of good friends are going away for their long service leave break soon and I won't see them until Christmas. It's funny that Christmas is such an event marker, because I don't do either the religious or the festive aspects, but it will certainly loom in my consciousness this year. We're required to take two weeks of our leave at this time because the courts close and it seems to be an embarrassment to have us sitting around playing computer games.

I'm trying to muster something to keep the spirits up during the coming slog. After next pay, I'll order some books from Book Depository, I think, the sense of anticipation is always pleasant. Hopefully gaming will start again soon. I've been contemplating playing Call of Cthulhu once more, though don't know the current state of the group. Right now, though, nothing will save me from Monday!
