Mar. 28th, 2010 04:35 pmThis Sunday has been really good. Decent weather, not too hot or humid. The storming has gone away and I watered for the first time since it happened. All plants are doing well now. The stuff through the hose can't measure up to the real thing from the sky.
Potatoes are coming up in the vege patch, through the pea-hay mulch. They got some Seasol, as did the little mandarin tree. I also planted some broccoli and tomato seeds and scattered some basil seeds everywhere. The grass in the back yard (varied species) went wild after the storm and needed cutting. Following the outside work, I went through my bookshelves to do a cull and found quite a few books which I don't read and keep from habit. Time they went to new homes. More dusting and rearranging. Only one bothersome phone call today and that wasn't my mother, it was some "researcher" from Edith Cowan Uni. Following that, the Do Not Call register emailed me to let me know my coverage was expiring. Yes, worked out that one. Re-registered.
The VOIP line is a damn nuisance at the moment. The echoing problem has got worse, though I already called Support and the guy did something he called a "port rebuild" which hasn't helped at all. Thanks to our most recent natural disaster, which involved a lot of computers crashing, I've no chance of getting Iinet to do anything else for awhile.
Apart from that, it's been a decent weekend.
I think it very unlikely that I'll get to Swancon. I'm not in the mood for things fannish at the moment and the con is too expensive and tiring to go and then not be in the mood. I'm going to use the time to finish the Nightsider material I've been working on, or if not finish, at least move it along a bit. I will also have the usual houseful of guests from the Rodent Sleepover Club.
