Bad news and good news

The bad news, for me at least, is that my modem has conked. It's the only part of my computer that isn't new. We transferred it over, since it wasn't the part that malfunctioned.

Hey, I got five months out of it, so I'm not that worried. When I have my home comp back, I'll have broadband :-)

I'll be able to access via work for the next week, and net cafes etc, but will be slower to respond to messages. If anything requires a fast response, you'll have to phone me. I'm in the book!

By the way - I have to tell somebody this and it's really pathetic - yesterday at work I was awarded the status of Highest Performance in the state, meaning our office :-) They're giving me a voucher to use at David Jones. The cynical among us wonder which of the big bosses has a share in that company?

Still pleased about it, though. See, being a didactic nitpicker can be useful sometimes.
