Nano Notes - 12,099 words, seven days
Nov. 8th, 2008 02:50 pmI'm definitely writing, even if I'm not making it to the write-ins! Had to do some catchup today, as I was sick with a cold on Thursday. Funny, I was able to keep doing things, believing it was only allergies making me sneeze, through Wednesday, but it whacked me as it departed, leaving me to wake on Thursday feeling as though I'd just donated blood. [The Red Cross suggested I not keep doing that if I got that dizzy].
Friday wasn't too productive either but as Philip Pullman, our Pep Talk coach for this week, has said, even a bad day's work is better than none. It keeps you connected to your novel. I had hoped to get some time off next week to work on it - is that cheating? - but work has gone from quiet to overloaded as it so often does and I've been asked not only to please not do that but to work an extra day. Since they pay me and I can use the extra, considering we're coming up to the end of year break, I'll probably graciously accede to their request :-)
I've also discovered that my novel's working title is almost the last name of a guy I know - sorry, H! - but don't worry, it most likely won't stay as that. I was researching possible names for characters, thinking that might be one or maybe the name of an imaginary suburb sandwiched in between Bassendean and Ashfield but that's all it is so far. It was that or "Untitled".
Best wishes to my fellow Wrimos on my flist - hang in there!
Here's a link to my Nano stuff. I just updated my novel info.
