Out of here on Friday
Jul. 16th, 2008 02:09 pmI fly out to the USA Friday night. My brain is under increasing strain at the moment and the closer I get to departure, the more it fragments. I read HALF an instructional note last Tuesday at work and had to go back and fix my document format after belatedly reading the other half. "You're not here, are you?" my supervisor said.
Anything I've promised to produce writer-wise will have to be done when I come back now, with the exception of note-taking I'll do while away. I will become your personal writer slave,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
girlie_jones to make up for not finishing those reviews for you yet. I have read the books! Seems all I've been doing apart from going to work is preparing travel documents and organising as much as I can before departure. I've been doing overtime and an extra day a week for several weeks to build up funds, which also hasn't helped the brain fatigue.
I've begun to wonder whether I've got early onset Alzheimers, having heard and read so much on the subject lately and having experienced a lot of trouble doing creative writing. I also take anti-depressants, which have made me feel a whole lot better this year. This is what they're meant to do but I don't think they help with writing at all. Again, that's on the burner for attention when I come home. I'm not going to mess with the medication just before I get on an international flight!
I had to buy some new clothes. So much of my wardrobe is either chewed by rodents (my own beloved pet rats) or is otherwise unacceptable for travel. My best T-shirt can't come because it bears the message "WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION." Since Customs agents of whatever nation have no sense of humour of which they are aware, I've decided it'll have to miss out on the trip.
Oh yes, it's time for a holiday.
