"Fine, let's grease the dwarf!"
Jan. 10th, 2007 09:34 am[Sunday game] It's good to finally do some gaming again. I miss the complexity of GURPS [we're playing RISUS] but even so, this game is entertaining and there have been a few "you had to be there" moments, like the dwarf tossing down the corridor. It was his idea. I think he said later, when I [the group's Wizard] complimented him by saying he'd obviously been tossed before, that it was a racial memory. Something like that, wasn't it, Leece? [I keep trying to type your LJ tag but something is not right!]
Not bad, considering this dwarf sees himself as an elf mistakenly born into a dwarf's body... Most heroic. The big chopping things that suddenly appeared in our path had nearly cut our elf Eggy in two [related to Leggy but prettier]. They were coated in a slime that turned out to closely resemble dishwashing liquid. Not that the Wizard would know. It somehow seemed a good idea to coat the dwarf in this stuff so he would slide past the blades, be able to seize the elf and keep going out of their reach.
Gaming was completed by that excellent - was it Thai curry,
callistra ? I continue to think about it while doing my own "cooking" through the week. Future bribes are always possible or we could just beg?
It's certainly good to get out on the weekend again. Nothing of interest happened on Saturday unless you include a housecleaning fit. Today I have to collect my bicycle from the shop where he went for his first complimentary service. It actually rained last night and is still dripping a bit now so I actually have to consider getting wet. In Summer. January. The world is seriously skewed. Still, I'm on holiday so it's not all bad. I'm not doing anything terrifically exciting, just getting everything done that I'd wanted to and having enough time to actually get bored. I'm still not sure why, if I admit to some boredom, people think that going back to work will fix this.
