Writer's Block: Life's lessons

[Error: unknown template qotd]

Probably that scaring the bejesus out of me never did help me learn maths. Nor did telling me to go back and do it again without helping me see what I'd done wrong the first time! [I was seven or eight!]

I never named a villain after her but she has appeared in various unfavourable guises in my fiction. Gods, she was an awful woman. Probably terrorised her third grade class because they were the only people who couldn't escape her.

[The teacher who wrote on my fifth grade report that maths meant very little to me was not the worst, only very impolite!]

Amen to that. I loved teachers who would tell me to look up words I'd mis-spelled in the dictionary.

No, sorry, haven't been thinking about COC. Work horrendous - and my book is about to come out, so there was last minute stuff there.

I was getting kind of bored with Amy. Running a female character seems rather limited, or maybe it's just because McGinty takes over all the time! I think next time I'll run a newspaperman :-)

Fair enough :) And entirely understandable.

I had a supervising teacher on prac tell me off for writing the correct answers next to incorrect answers while marking tests. He reckoned you should always just mark it wrong and get them to figure out what was wrong. That was 6 weeks of hell with him.

This wasn't tests, in my case, this was her normal method of "teaching" maths.
