Drop By Drop Account of The Storm

I was just outside to make sure loose objects weren't loose. The air was so heavy it was like walking through a hot soup. Seconds later, a roll of thunder and now the rain is here. Heavy rain too, the courtyard is now soaked.

Inside the house suddenly became too dark to see and I put a light on. We're all fine here so far; cross appendages we don't lose power....have to be able to make tea while I'm watching this. Rats are fine, not a clue.

More rolls of thunder. Might go offline now.... :-)

Isn't it fantastic?! And the temperature dropped almost 10 degrees in the space of about 10 minutes! Now just have to hope the storm hangs about for a bit so it doesn't get a chance to heat up again before evening :)

Unfortunately.....

It was much better for awhile but I think is heating up again now. I hope there's more coming.

I love storms, as long as there's no damage. Unfortunately, a friend of mine lost her entire library, barring 300 novels, as the result of a storm about a year ago. Her school never bothered to rebuild the library.:-(

We've had some tropical weather here this summer - huge storms in the middle of awful humidity. Back to the dry heat today - it's going to be 40', after an entire summer of nothing much over 30' and only rarely over 27' - just before school starts again!

But I do enjoy the drama of the thunder and lightning and the downpour. I love to lie in bed and listen to it late at night.

I don't think it's going to be as interesting as hoped. "Rain bearing tropical depression" just doesn't carry the same oomph, to my way of thinking!
