Rat Wars: The Peace Talks
After a day and a night with Elliott separated from everybody but his brother Vernon, who's used to him, I've tried reuniting the group.
So far so good, but I haven't tried going to sleep and seeing if I get woken up by bloodcurdling shrieks again yet. That's for tonight. I don't want Oliver to get hurt again, but if Vernon and Elliott are separated from the other three for too long, reintroducing them could be really difficult. Elliott may leave him alone now that he's thrashed him, and Oliver does seem to know it, so we hope, and I'll try to move fast if I do hear yelling.
I've seen this happen before with boss rats when they're older and their downtrodden minions start developing backbone. If Oliver accepts the new world order, that's better, because a group of five is better than three or two, just for variety, and Vernon needs the socialising too. It's not his fault his brother is a prat. With issues. Elliott's always had this thing about humping everybody else in the cage but he's really annoying the others at the moment.
Time to go to bed. Am really tired, first week back in the gulag and already I'm sick of the city and the crowds. I wish I didn't have to live in the city, but there's the employment and eating problem to contend with. Work is actually pretty quiet, I mean, there's stuff to do for the few of us who are there, but the place is quite peaceful. If not for the getting to and fro it wouldn't be too bad.
