Sick Day
I'm sick!
Nothing major; headache plus sore eyes. The kind of headache which stabs you from inside! It woke me up around 5am, which was when I realised I wouldn't be getting to work today. Didn't help to be greeted with, "Oh damn!" when I had to explain this to my supervisor on the phone. Probably was getting sick yesterday, at least the achy eyes and tired part, but I'd put those down to too much Scrabble. :-)
This means a rearrangement of my week, hopefully not too much. I'd already decided Wilfred wouldn't be neutered this Friday. He'd been behaving a lot better this last fortnight, so perhaps he just needed the extra time to adjust to more cage space/more room-mates, after the big cage was opened up again, after they'd been living in two sections for quite a long time.
I've asked to have my room booking for Worldcon changed to a twin, so that I can have a room-mate if needed. If anyone reading this is in the same situation, i.e. needs to save a bit of money and would like to share a room at Worldcon with a quiet nonsmoker, let me know. We may be able to come to some arrangement to benefit both of us.
It's been a peaceful, fairly boring day overall, what with me in bed, listening to the house across the road being knocked over. There's now a pile of rubble and some heavy machinery sitting on the site.
I remember hoping that the house's rats, if any, got out okay!

I guess Wilfred is relieved, that is, if he's added the phrase, "Stop that or it's your goolies!" to his somewhat limited vocab :-) "Dinner" and "Wilfred" are the only words I'm fairly sure he knows.
