Stuff from yesterday

There's a few minutes before I leave for work and I don't want to get there too early. I'm afraid my detox from FB has faltered somewhat, thanks to the seduction of Scrabble and needing to stay in contact with my friend Ian McLean to organise meeting up while he's here for an artists' gathering. I'll put links to that later, though if you're on FB - there it is again! - you can find the details from his name and 52 Weeks Challenge. I'm going to link a FB post to this so Ian can read it and have a look at LJ so maybe he can fill in the details.

I rarely seem to have days as good as yesterday. I was quite tired due to another broken night and visiting my counsellor right before I met up with Ian for lunch and hours of chat about our lives in science fiction fandom, particularly that large part of it in the distant realm of Before The Internet. Even so, had a fantastic time chatting and looking at Ian's artwork. The network of friends which was created by all those writers and artists and dreamers is still so strong and I'm honoured to be a part of it. I'm even in a reasonably good mood going to work today (g) which is an extra; I work Thursdays when the gulag is horrendously busy, which they are at the moment.

More later, I have to detach myself and go do stuff.

So glad to hear you had a good day! These days can be few and far between. I had no classes today, but so many things to do anyway, I came home exhausted.

You do know Ian has a blog on Blogger, don't you? I follow it. And there's always email, or even letters! ;-)

Facebook is the way so many people primarily communicate these days. Argh! I think Scrabble is a good use for it though. As long as you're not getting caught up in other people's drama.

I hope things are still going well for you!

Well, people can get pretty worked up playing Scrabble :-) My problem is when I'm playing against my mother in person and I start swearing :-)

Work wore down the good mood, as expected. I did a stuff up and promised to go back to my desk and shoot myself. "Okay," says my supervisor.

Hope your work situation is better as well.
