Back now :-) iinet earned their money again. Geek on the phone worked out my problem in about two seconds of me reading error message, then I just had to slow him down enough to make notes on what I had to do. Some subhuman spammer slime not only sent me unwanted advice on how to increase the size of my nonexistent male member but a corrupted email so that Outlook went URK and fell over.

Thank you, Calli, for encouraging response to my mail. I've enjoyed hearing about your recent experiences as well, with all the babies :-) Even as I write, my nephew is being born over in Port Lincoln. Last I heard, he was being induced. My mother and I both believe my brother will probably faint if he is in the room when this occurs :-) No idea what he's going to be called - my nephew, I mean - but hopefully not anything my mother has been suggesting. She thought of R.J. Spelt Arjay. Right. This is because my dad was named Ross John and Mum doesn't think Ross is a good name. Sister-in-law Jodie's mum is already referring to the baby as Daniel even though Jodie has said no way, no how on that name. As a result, nobody has a clue what the poor kid will end up with. I told my mum that Arjay sounded Indian - this wouldn't bother me but I know it'll bother her. My mother would have been right at home in the British Raj.

Not much else going on of interest. My mum is going in for a hip replacement op which has done nothing for my stress levels. Conversations with my mother tend to annoy me so I keep them about 2 weeks apart. This is not going to work when she's in hospital. I've also had to go over to help her clean Cocky's cage. Still don't know if I'll be allowed to keep Cocky. Going to write his owners a note suggesting he might like to move into my aviary if they want more freedom to take holidays now they're retired, etc, etc.

Work's kind of settling down but is no easier to tolerate. New digital systems are settling down too. Easy once you know what you're doing. We're getting a new manager too, who I hope is less gung-ho than the one we have now. Haven't yet been able to get rid of the foghorn bitch who sits behind me - but not far enough behind.

So life isn't crash hot but could be worse. Haven't had a lurgy, at least. Hopefully will be able to catch up with some sf people soon - pity they picked a Tuesday night for a get together. I'd have to hang in town for 2 hours before it even started or else go home and turn around again. Not for a winter/spring night! The rats would take a dim view of dinner and playtime being late.

end of ramble for now
maybe writing chat next time - haven't been able to find anyone to chat *with*!

Ditch outlook. It's busted. Use thunderbird instead.

You too :-) Soothing pat on shoulder. I wish I could say it wasn't all *that* bad but I'm afraid it is :-)

See you on the far side - hope you get your Broadband back okay!

I second that motion.

I third that motion, though I'd suggest getting the Mozilla suite instead because it has email, web browser, html editor and IRC chat all in one package. Mozilla (or Firefox) is safer than Microsoft's Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Mail (or Thunderbird) is safer than Microsoft's Outlook.
