Friday 13
I know what I did on Friday 13th...
I went to town to get an umbrella before rain fell on me again, handed over $90 for a small piece of cardboard to ride trains for another month and had HJs before going home, fortunately before the water main burst and flooded some of the CBD's major roads.
This has been a pretty quiet week; haven't been needed at The Office Job, so had to get some writing done and even sent some out. The Sunflowers are doing well and I've noted that one is about to open its flower and look down on me. From being a plant bed of cute little green things, the sunflower patch is acquiring a rather ominous triffid-like feeling as they rustle huge leaves and grow golden orbs wider across than my hand. One moves through it with some caution, half expecting the plants to move to bar one's path.
Yes, I know, but I did say it was a quiet week.
The rodents-in-charge are also well, though Henry is definitely very aged and a bit shaky. This does not stop him from demanding to be taken out of the cage and cuddled. For hours. His cellmate Jeremiah bit me again last night for no reason that I could tell. Maybe he was bored.
I'm now trying to decide the right market for a story starring both Mary Bennet of P&P fame and also Professor Moriarty. Any ideas?
the Ratfan.
