My "excitement" for the day

Very intense weather happening now; mostly strong winds, but some rain as well. Last night was so quiet, no wind at all, you just knew something had to happen. This is the side of my house after a support pole gave way. Since taking the pic, it's collapsed all the way down, against the kitchen window, so we're going to have an interesting time sorting this out. I think the bougainvillea will have to have a haircut so it doesn't cut gaping wounds on people.

I managed to get out for groceries, wasn't too bad then but the wind picked up while I was inside and so strong that the bike kept falling over while I was trying to wrangle grocery bags on to handlebars, unlock and so on. Then I noticed that although I was pedalling, the bike was almost standing still, so had to get off and push. That proved faster.

Weather's still too crazy to start the cleanup yet, but hopefully nothing else falls off the house. I've done a bit of writing, paid a bill and tidied house a bit. Tonight will be the V & V game and that's it for a day off.
