Here in Denver
Greetings all. I've just travelled by train - the California Zephyr - from Reno to Denver. Was supposed to be from Emeryville just outside SF but got news of a derailment (and possibly a tornado according to rumours) so they put us on a bus to Reno, which was as charming and comfortable as you might imagine and THEN moved on to the train which, with a sleeper compartment, was much more comfortable and very scenic. One has a definite sense of having covered distance, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Was still extremely tired so slept very well last night.
Apparently Denver is having a heatwave - it feels good to me :-)
Satyapriya - those woollies I advised you to bring for SF; you won't need them here if this weather continues :-) Let me know how you're doing.
Thanks all for the mailing advice; will get a mailbag if I send any more books home. The next package will be all books if I can find ones I'm looking for. For new stock, might as well buy from Amazon if I'm going to be hit hard by postage expenses.
